**Job Title: Grandstand Security Officer**
**Seasonal Position
**Position Overview:**
As a Grandstand Security Attendant, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all guests, staff, and participants at Wyoming Downs Racetrack located in Evanston, WY. Your primary role will be to maintain a safe and secure environment within the grandstand area during events, overseeing crowd management, monitoring activities, and responding to any security incidents. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Crowd Management:**
- Monitor crowd behavior and ensure compliance with venue rules and regulations.
- Assist in directing patrons to ensure safe and orderly movement in and out of the grandstand area.
- Implement effective crowd control measures during events to prevent accidents and disturbances.
2. **Safety and Security Monitoring:**
- Conduct regular patrols of the grandstand area to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
- Ensure that emergency exits are accessible and clearly marked at all times.
3. **Incident Response:**
- Respond promptly to emergencies, incidents, or disturbances, including medical situations, altercations, and violations of policies.
- Prepare detailed incident reports and document all interactions for future reference.
- Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency responders as needed.
4. **Guest Assistance: **
- Provide a friendly and welcoming presence to guests, assisting with inquiries and providing information about the venue and events.
- Enforce event rules, including age restrictions, prohibited items, and guidelines for safe conduct.
- Assist in the seamless operation of events, ensuring an enjoyable experience for attendees.
5. **Training and Compliance:**
- Participate in regular training sessions and drills to stay updated on security protocols and emergency procedures.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and local regulations, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional security training or certifications (e.g., CPR, First Aid) is a plus.
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or crowd management preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to de-escalate tense situations.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
- Physical fitness to stand for long periods, walk extensively, and respond quickly in emergencies.
- Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation purposes.
